Slow progress on Links today. I didn’t have much time and spent what little I had chasing syntax errors. Here’s to a more successful tomorrow. I’m planning on getting my delete function working, add per user link databases, and add a dummy links collection for when you are not signed in.
Programming can be really annoying when you are having a dense moment. I was searching for a syntax error for probably two hours all in all only to have someone else tell me I was missing a bracket somewhere. Sigh.
When someone sends me an audio message, my reply will always be to send me a text instead. I have no patience to listen to your rambling to parse what you want to say. Editing your thoughts into something meaningful worth sharing is your job. Not mine.
Man. I’m so happy I am not on that Facebook train. So many dopes over there.
Current status of Links, my barebones bookmark and archival tool:
- creating links via the site works
- the site now also offers a Markdown preview
- Markdown and PDF are saved as cleaned up versions
Still to do:
- make the archive script more robust
- delete links from the website
- some CSS design work
My lack of PHP knowledge makes me run against walls in my little website project. I am making headway, but slowly. Had a little breakthrough just now. I’d love to continue, but need to take a break and prepare lunch.
Links - a bookmarking/archival project
A personal bookmarking project is in progress, allowing users to save URLs as PDFs, Markdown, and Web Archives while displaying them in a simple list format without tags or categories.
