Discovering Printful and Etsy

I recently stumbled upon a fantastic combo during one of our projects: Printful and Etsy. Imagine my excitement when I realized I could turn the hidden scribbles and interim designs from BabylonDreams into something more than just digital clutter!

Why Printful and Etsy?

Etsy is like a treasure trove for unique, handmade items, and Printful? They’re the magical elves of print-on-demand, transforming our digital designs into physical products seamlessly.

Our New Etsy Shop

Mein Fitter Freitag - 2304ml Mit Waterllama hydriert und glücklich bleiben! 💦🦙 Waterllama

Today’s lunch: homemade beef and veggie soup with maultaschen.

Soooo delicious.

No image today. Soup was gone faster then I was able to pull out my iPhone.

I‘m thinking crispy fried potatoes with spinach, topped with a fried egg for today‘s lunch.

I felt the need to look into playing around with Kirby CMS—again. I—once again—learned that it is not my world anymore. So I put away my old license files and deleted the project folder.

Micro.blog you have spoiled me.

Peter Pan - Tanzwerk Silvia Rumpf

This weekend is our little one’s big performance. The ballet school is performing Peter Pan the whole weekend. Two full rehearsals on Friday and Saturday and then three two hour performances on Saturday and Sunday.

We are going to watch the one on Sunday noon. Which is about to start in about 30 minutes.

I’ve seen pictures of the rehearsal and it looks great.

Rope Jumping

Today marks the start of me getting back into rope jumping. I actually wanted to start rowing, but I have no space for a rowing machine right now and I refuse to pay gym fees just to get access to a rowing machine. So rope jumping it will be for the foreseeable future. I just need to be uber-careful to start really slow to ease my joints into it. They do not like sudden and prolonged strain.

So that’s where they all went. Someone yelled „coffee and cake!“ and suddenly they come all a-running.

So CleanUpDay came and went and only three people—myself included—showed up. That’s about 0,158% of the village population. Or really embarrassing how little people care about the place they live in.

Diesen Wochenende ist wieder CleanUpDay in Geinsheim. Wäre schön wenn viele mitmachen.

Today‘s lunch: Zürch‘er Geschnetzeltes with rice.

I just read Going old-school with the VFX on ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F’ - befores & afters. The VFX breakdown while interesting just shows what a waste of money it all is. I mean, how hard is it to spray a bit of water into Eddy Murphy‘s face on set? Instead your blow your money on several artists having to do matchmoving and simulating and compositing for several days.

There is nothing „old school“ about any of it.

This whole new Reeder, old Reeder thing last week has pushed me to rediscover Fiery Feeds. It’s a great RSS reader that has a few intelligent folders that help surface articles in different ways.

I’ve switched to it and haven’t looked back.

Does anyone reading this own the Chase Hughes Ops Manual or the whole OP6 Bundel? I am itching to get it, but am not sure it is worth the hefty price tag. Any reviews out there?

I just downgraded three Kickstarter pledges to digital versions instead of hardcover. As much as I love physical books, I’m saving for a bigger purchase and trying to avoid excess. Sometimes you have to admit you don’t really need something.

I remember now what the app from Realmac Software was called. Socialite. It got canned somewhere around 2012. But it was essentially what Tapestry and the new Reeder are trying to do. Back then I used it extensively. It was way ahead of its time.

Here is some info on it.

Stalking a public profile

I overheard someone today. They confessed to stalking a singer on Instagram. What they meant was clearly that the follow them on Instagram.

Since when has it become a negative to follow someone on their public profile on Instagram?

Stalking is by definition to follow someone against their will and often in secret.

How can you stalk someone on social media when they have a public profile, indicating their willingness to be followed?"

The new Reeder is not for me

I tried the new Reeder app yesterday for about 20 minutes before deleting it again. It just didn’t fit my needs at all. Or maybe I simply didn’t get it.

The idea of an endless scrolling timeline stresses me out. No unread count. You mean there is no indication of it ever ending? That sounds stress inducing to no end.

With my RSS reader (the now called Reeder Classic), I have a ton of feeds that are very high frequency that I only scan to see if something pops out. I have a folder called favorites that I scan more closely. At the end I mark both the „firehose“ and the favorites as read. The posts disappear and I am at ease that I got the most important bits.

Then I open YouTube take a quick glance at what the homepage suggests. Usually junk. If there is something interesting it goes into my watch later queue. Then I scan my subscriptions. Same deal. Done.

I do this once a days in the morning. Once.

During the day I catch up on my Micro.blog feed, which is easy, becausee I only follow a couple of people compared to several hundreds I followed on Twitter.

I don’t need much morere then this. My past self probably would be all over Tapestry and the new Reeder. In fact, I did use a timeline aggregation app about ten years ago from Realmac Software that is no longer available and whose name I have forgotten. They were way ahead of their time back then. Maybe they should dust it off as well.
