4th step of getting away from Amazon and the most expensive one. Get rid of all the Alexa/Echo products and replace them with another smart home device. Probably Apple‘s HomePod since I trust Apple with privacy more and am already in their ecosystem. Also not sure which other options are out there.

Third step to getting away away from Amazon. Find another (German) online store that offers all kinds of shit and makes it easy it order. Drawing a blank on this one for now. Needs more research.

Second step of getting away from Amazon. Look for Kindle alternatives. Here in Germany the best two options seem to be Kobo and Pocketbook. Kobo seems to have the better (larger and cheaper) store. But Pocketbook seems to be more store agnostic and supports more formats.

First step of getting away from Amazon. Download and de-DRM all my Audible books. Use Audiobookshelf to host them. Then get a Libro.fm subscription. They are cheaper then Audible and offer DRM free audiobooks. Plus they support local bookstores internationally.
